Area & location
The Edelweiss holiday home is ideally located for exploring the Koralpe as well as the surrounding mountains and alpine pastures – in all seasons. In summer, in addition to the mountains, the surrounding lakes are a guarantee of the finest leisure fun. The crystal clear waters offer many opportunities – swimming, stand-up paddling and the like offer a lot of variety. The tennis courts, miniature golf courses in the region, the stadium pool and the possibility of paragliding make summer in the Lavant Valley very adventurous
Autumn colors the forests of the Lavant valley and transforms the whole valley into a very special backdrop. In addition to the many hikes that can be undertaken again at more moderate temperatures, autumn offers some very special delicacies, especially for connoisseurs: From the meadow goose to the regional game and much more, everything is offered in the inns and restaurants.
In winter, the surrounding ski areas lure with perfectly groomed slopes. Above all, of course, the Koralpe, because here the piste is practically on the doorstep. Of course there are ski instructors and ski courses for those interested in learning to ski, as well as a ski rental directly on the Koralpe at Intersport Tatschl.
Of course there are also many leisure activities that provide variety all year round. For horse lovers, the region’s riding companies offer guided rides and riding lessons all year round, for some the most beautiful way to explore nature. If the weather is not so special, there is no reason to despair: the museum in the Lavanthaus, the climbing hall in Wolfsberg, the stalactite cave in Griffen, from spring 2020 also a modern cinema in Wolfsberg, and many other museums, sports and cultural institutions in Carinthia and Styria can be reached quickly. Of course, neighbouring Slovenia and southern neighbour Italy are only a stone’s throw away and offer a variety of excursion destinations.
